Welcome to the World Of The Royal Breed of Madagascar
The AACDT
invites you to join us!
Our promise
to you:
The American Association
of the Coton de Tulear offers its members a strong commitment to unparalleled
support and service to unite us in the common goal to preserve and protect
this magnificent, rare breed.
It's our desire
to keep our members involved by open communication with our Regional
Delegates, Web Site updates and an active internet dialogue. We want
to know "What can the AACDT do for you?"
The AACDT is a "full
service" organization.
As a member,
you'll receive:
An accurate
registry for your Coton. You'll receive your pedigree in 30 days
after the registrar receives the application.
Our monthly
newsletter, "Coton Columns", filled with timely information
useful to both companion owners and breeders. Features include dates
and locations of health clinics, seminars, the "latest" on
new grooming, toys & products for your dog, announcements about
upcoming litters and puppy availability, contest and "Fun Facts".
The Official
Publication of the AACDT, "Madagascar". This magazine
is designed to become a valuable resource for all of your Coton interests
and concerns. Articles on 'Care and Grooming', Health Reports, Activities
for Cotons, including agility and obedience training, and more, will
make this magazine a permanent reference.
Additional "exclusive"
password access to the AACDT web site, where you'll find a collection
of valuable articles and information to make life with your Coton happier
and healthier. This "Members Only" section will also contain
an "Illustrated Standard of the Coton de Tulear". (in progress)
We offer:
A comprehensive
"point system" to earn our Championship Title. This point
system will be updated regularly and will be available to all members.
Our future goal is to offer you the ability to enter and calculate your
points, directly on the AACDT web site. (In progress)
The opportunity
to achieve the coveted title of "AACDT Top Dog of the Year".
Top Dog Awards, "The Founders' Award", will be given to the
Coton earning the highest number of points as well as the Coton of Opposite
Sex earning the highest points. There will also be an award for "Top
Agility Coton". These awards will belong to you permanently to
enjoy and display in your home.
Parent Club
status with NAKC/Rarities. NAKC/Rarities will sponsor both our
Regional and National Specialties. We'll be enjoying 4 Regional Specialties
and our National Specialty under their auspices. Member input on location
and qualified judges will be sought. All judges will be selected for
their knowledge and expertise in judging the Coton de Tulear. In addition,
these judges will receive a copy of the standard, well in advance of
the show. We will strive to bring FCI judges to our National Specialty
and will solicit the members for suggestions of judges.
Seminars, clinics,
lectures or demonstrations of interest will be offered for both
companion owners and exhibitors at every Specialty, Regional and National.
Code of
Ethics Breeders will have:
The privilege
of joining our very prestigious Code of Ethics Breeder organization.
By requiring a group of health certifications and clearances, our COE
Breeders will be "head and shoulders" above the rest. You'll
be proud to say that you are an AACDT Code of Ethics Breeder. Refer
you puppy clients to our web site and they will feel confident that
you are going "above and beyond" to insure that they'll receive
a healthy and well adjusted Coton de Tulear.
Every litter
announced on our web site and monthly in Coton Columns. Referrals
will be made by members of the Board for all inquiries that come directly
to the Club.
The ability
to receive the designation of a "5-Star Litter" by adding
additional tests to your basic requirements as an AACDT COE Breeder.
"5-Star Litter" will be featured on our web site and in "Coton
Columns". We promise to give you the recognition you deserve for
these litters!
Recognition
of "New Breeder of the Year", following your new breeder
submissions and vote for this honor.

Clubs' Official "Stud Book".
